Ted Kyle and Michelle Vicari Take Leadership Roles at OAC

Ted Kyle was elected vice-chair of the Obesity Action Coalition at the OAC board’s recent strategic planning meeting, and Michelle Vacari joined the national Board of Directors. Kyle has been a board member of OAC since 2009 and chairs the Nominating Committee. He also chairs the Advocacy Committee for The Obesity Society and serves on the Steering Committee for STOP Obesity Alliance. Kyle is founder and principal at ConscienHealth. Kyle was awarded OAC’s highest honor, Member of the Year, at their first annual patient conference in October.

Vicari is well known for her blog, The World According to Eggface, which supports individuals in their lifelong journey with obesity. Vacari is a longtime member of OAC and serves on the Membership Committee. Like Kyle, she is a 2012 OAC award winner, having been honored with the Outstanding Membership Recruitment award.

Vicari and Kyle step into their new roles immediately. As vice-chair, Kyle will become the board chair when Pam Davis, the current chair, completes her term in January, 2014.

“Ted has been an essential part of the OAC. He has assisted us on Capitol Hill by bringing both a personal and professional viewpoint of obesity when advocating to legislators. We are very excited to have him serve as vice-chairman,” said Joe Nadglowski, OAC President and CEO.
