Breakthrough Women in Obesity Medicine: Fatima Cody Stanford
Today is a day to stop and think about more than a decade of working with an exceptional leader in obesity medicine: Fatima Cody Stanford. A new PBS feature brings us to reflect upon this.
In a quarter century of working in obesity, we have had the privilege of knowing and working with many exceptional people. The list is long. But Stanford stands out as someone with drive and passion for the clinical science of obesity care, for advocacy, and for justice that few can match and none can surpass.
It is a genuine privilege to collaborate with her on publications, programs, and a common purpose to elevate the care for people living with this disease. We are proud to count her as a friend and colleague.
Other respected colleagues appear in this PBS special: Kayla Northam, Richele Corrado, and Caroline Apovian. We get to meet Stanford’s parents, sister, mentors, and her husband.
Don’t miss the opportunity to watch all of it. Do it right here with the embedded video above or on the PBS website and app. You can find it here.
